Jez Curwin to step down as Canterbury Cricket CEO
Canterbury Cricket Association (CCA) today announced that, after almost seven years, Jez Curwin will be stepping down as their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the end of October 2024.
On behalf of the Canterbury cricket community, the CCA board wants to acknowledge, and express our appreciation, for the significant contribution Jez has made to cricket in our region. Jez has navigated a number of challenges during his tenure as CEO and his commitment to improving the cricket system over the last 7 years has been unrelenting. Jez will leave the organisation in a strong position for the future.
The search for the next Canterbury Cricket CEO will start immediately as the Board looks to ensure a sustainable leadership transition.
Regarding his decision to step down from the role, Jez commented “It has been an absolute privilege to have been part of the history of Canterbury Cricket and of cricket in Canterbury – I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Association. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with during my time including the Board, staff, players, stakeholders, partners, sponsors and supporters who are the heart and soul of cricket in this fabulous region. The last seven years has provided some incredible memories both on and off the field and everyone should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved over that time, especially given some of the unforeseen events that we have had to contend with. Cricket is in good health at the moment and I look forward to watching as it continues to grow and thrive in the future.”
