Day 2: Otago Bats First Again
In the second match of the double-header on Sunday, Otago won the toss and chose to bat, giving Canterbury another opportunity to showcase their bowling prowess. Nicola Clayton played a crucial role, taking 3 wickets for 30 runs, while debutant Boadicea Lynch marked her entry into the competition with 2 wickets for 38 runs. Otago set a target of 180 before being bowled out.
Chasing 181 for victory, the Canterbury Magicians had a strong start, with Frankie Mackay continuing her fine form by notching up her 24th List A half-century. Isobel Sharp also contributed with a List A personal best of 45 runs. The Magicians eventually reached the target with 4 wickets to spare, securing a well-deserved victory.
